North of Meinert Park in NW Muskegon County there are 14 acres of unspoiled Michigan dune habitat in the Flower Creek Dunes Nature Preserve. It is a 1.2 mile round trip walk on sand and many stairs to get to the overlook at the top of the dune. There is a small seasonal fee for parking at Meinert. It's a fun hike.
Since this video was taken the park has expanded north all the way to Flower Creek. Continuing the walk along the shore of Lake Michigan northward beyond the stairs will take you too the creek.
